The Best Cookies in NYC
The one place I never fail to visit in New York City is Levain Bakery.
Levain makes the BEST cookies I have ever had!
They are - just right. Or beyond. Just perfect!
With a handful of flavors, my favorites are the Chocolate Chip Peanut Butter and the Chocolate Chip Walnut. Located in Manhattan's Upper West Side, it's just a few blocks over from Central Park.
My Levain cookie routine is to take the subway up (or down) to the 72nd street station, walk on over, bask in the smell of wonderful freshly baked cookies, and head over to Central Park. If you can't stand to have a cookie without coffee, they can even indulge you in that.
After grabbing cookies I like wander the neighborhood and imagine what it might be like to live in one of the Brownstone's. I'm guilty of creating different narratives in my head. But you know what, maybe I can blame it on the sugar! Maybe it went to my head.
If you're looking for the perfect NYC treat to bring home to your friends and family, Levain in my recommendation. That is, if you don't finish them first!
