5 Places to Enjoy a Cold Treat in San Diego

5 Places to Enjoy a Cold Treat in San Diego

The days are getting warmer, and I am NOT complaining. But sometimes, you have to get creative with how you cool down.

Here are my top five favorite places to enjoy a nice cold treat in San Diego:

1. The Baked Bear

This spot gives me a sweet flashback to my days in college. We would venture down to Diddy Riese in Westwood for a nice ice cream sandwich. I suggest heading to The Baked Bear’s Pacific Beach location and taking a nice stroll along the boardwalk.

2. Señor Mango’s

If you love acai bowls or fresh fruit, Señor Mango’s is a must! They have the best, most refreshing options in town. My personal favorite is the Escamocha - chopped fruits with sweet cream, diced almonds and coconut. So delicious and perfect for a hot summer day. Like YUM.

3. Moo Time

Coronado’s #1 creamery! Located inside the famous Hotel Del Coronado, it’s always fun to get a cone and wander the beautiful Del.

4. Mr. Frostie

Would you believe if I told you that Mr. Frostie has been in Pacific Beach since 1949?! That is a long time. So you should know - they got it right. They have sundae’s and shakes - but my personal favorite is a small twist cone dipped in chocolate and almonds.

5. Better Buzz

This post wouldn’t be complete without mentioning Better Buzz! Better Buzz was started in San Diego, and they truly do have The Best Drink Ever. If you have the opportunity to go, I suggest ordering that first. Iced, of course. It’s a classic Americano with their signature vanilla. To me, it tastes like a delightful plunge into a sweet honey, vanilla coffee.

Where is your favorite place to get a cold treat?
