Brick 'n' Mortar
Here I am in Dallas soaking up the heat! I kid you not, this wall, with it's maroon bricks and tall strength spoke to me.
What do you do when your backs against a wall?
I focus on one brick at a time.
Anytime I feel stuck, here are a few things I do:
- Change my routine: Say I'm feeling stuck with my workout routine, I'd mix things up by for example signing up for a dance class and work it that way!
- Focus on what I can control: If I'm frustrated with how my day is panning out or how someone is responding to me - I transfer my focus to what I can control. This allows me to release a lot of energy I was expiring on trying to control things that are just out of my control.
- Adjust my mindset: You know the popular saying, "if you don't like something, change it. If you can't change it, change your attitude". This works with the above, but also can help in decision making.
- Be mindful of how I speak to myself: In the moment what am I saying to myself? Am I being negative? Cutting myself down? Being aware of my internal thoughts can really help steer me from a bad direction and swerve me towards a better disposition.
How do you handle the little challenges that life throws your way?
